Dr Evan Woo is a specialist plastic, reconstructive and breast surgeon with a focused practice in breast cancer surgery, breast reconstruction and aesthetic breast surgery. Over the course of his career, he has developed expertise that spans the entire breast surgery journey, from diagnosis and cancer treatment to reconstruction and aesthetic restoration.
Following specialist training in Singapore, Dr Woo completed a Microsurgery Fellowship at the Nottingham Breast Institute in the United Kingdom. He continues to contribute to teaching, research and surgical education through his appointments at KK Women's and Children's Hospital and Duke-NUS Medical School.
As one of the few surgeons in Singapore whose practice spans breast cancer surgery, breast reconstruction and aesthetic breast surgery, Dr Woo approaches treatment planning with consideration for the full spectrum of breast care. Rather than viewing each procedure in isolation, he considers how every stage of treatment may influence the next, helping patients understand their options while planning for both immediate and long-term outcomes.

His aim is not simply to perform an operation, but to guide patients through every stage of care with continuity, thoughtful planning and a commitment to achieving safe, natural-looking outcomes.

Humanitarian & Volunteer Work
Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr Woo has participated in international humanitarian and volunteer surgical missions, providing reconstructive care to underserved communities in the region.
His volunteer work includes:

These missions involved supporting patients with cleft and reconstructive needs, demonstrating Dr Woo's longstanding commitment to serving patients both within Singapore and beyond.
A Life Beyond Medicine
Personal Interests and Achievements
Dr Woo’s interests outside medicine have played an important role in shaping the mindset he brings to his clinical practice. His years in competitive sport, particularly at the national level, have cultivated qualities such as discipline, resilience, focus and perseverance. They have also given him an appreciation of the sustained effort often required to make progress, whether in sport, rehabilitation or recovery.
His sporting achievements include:
- Representing Singapore in tennis at the 18th Southeast Asian Games, where he won a bronze medal as part of the men’s team
- Representing Singapore at the 1997 World University Games in Fukuoka, Japan
- Being selected for the Singapore Davis Cup Training Squad from 1997 to 1999
- Playing competitive squash for the Commando Formation Inter-Formation Squash Team
- Representing the Kent Ridge Hall Squash Team
Through competitive tennis and squash, Dr Woo developed an understanding of preparation, adaptability and the value of incremental improvement. These principles continue to influence his approach to patient care, particularly in setting realistic goals, working through challenges and helping patients make steady progress towards better function and quality of life.
Dr Woo also has a longstanding interest in photography, dating back to his time with the Raffles Junior College Photographic Society. Photography offers a different perspective, encouraging patience, observation and an appreciation that every situation can be viewed from more than one angle. Together, his sporting and creative interests reflect a thoughtful, disciplined approach that extends beyond his professional practice.
